Own a captivating piece of ecological history. Hand-turned from a single block of salvaged ash timber, this stunning bowl tells the dramatic story of the forest. It showcases incredible, high-contrast spalting—ink-black zone lines and rich amber marbling naturally etched into the wood grain as it aged.

Adding to its remarkable character, this bowl features distinct, authentic tracking channels left by the Emerald Ash Borer. Rather than hidden away, these winding galleries have been meticulously cleaned, stabilized, and integrated into the bowl's profile, offering a tangible, tactile connection to the tree's natural life cycle.

With its spacious 10-inch diameter and shallow 3-inch depth, this bowl provides a wide, open presentation. It makes for an incredible conversation-starting centerpiece, a rustic fruit display, or a unique serving dish for your dining table.

Features & Craftsmanship

  • Authentic Borer Tracking: Features natural, winding insect galleries that have been deeply cleaned and smoothed, giving the piece an unmatched sculptural texture and story.

  • 100% Food-Safe: Despite the natural character marks, the bowl is completely sealed and finished with a premium, non-toxic, food-grade oil and wax blend. It is fully safe for direct contact with fruits, breads, and dry snacks.

  • One-of-a-Kind Narrative: A striking combination of dramatic fungal spalting and insect geometry means absolutely no other bowl on earth looks like this.

Care Instructions

Because of the intricate, natural texture of the borer tracks, this bowl appreciates just a little mindful maintenance to stay beautiful for generations:

  • Wash: Hand wash only with warm water and a mild dish soap. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe out any textured areas. Dry immediately with a towel.

  • Avoid: Never submerge or soak the bowl in water, place it in the dishwasher, or use it in the microwave. Note: To make cleanup effortless, we recommend avoiding heavy liquids or wet salad dressings directly inside the textured borer channels.

  • Refresh: When the wood grain begins to look dry or matte, simply wipe down with a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil or cutting board conditioner, let it sit for 15 minutes, and buff off any excess with a clean cloth.
